Problems with Blogger Comments

I'm having some problems with comments to my posts. It started happening with my most recent post...I would get email notifications that people had commented but when I clicked the link I couldn't find the comment. If I logged out of Blogger and Google then I would see all the comments but when I logged back in most of the comments would disappear and I could only see a few. I can sometimes find the comment and reply if I search for the person who commented on Google+ but this doesn't always seem to work. The good news...for me, anyway...is that this seems to be happening to others and Blogger is on the case. They are asking anyone who is having trouble to let them know here.

So if I haven't replied to your comment, it's not because I'm being rude...I can read what you've written but just can't reply! Hopefully things will be sorted out soon.

Odin's Ravens from Osprey Games

My copy of Odin's Ravens from Osprey Games arrived today. The production values are excellent as to be expected from Osprey....the wooden ravens are superb and the cards are made from good quality cardstock and are beautifully illustrated. A really great looking game!

I haven't had a chance to play the game yet but as it is a two player game that can be played in half an hour, I know it will see a lot of play....with young kids in the house, these are the sort of games that get played most often!

There is a video 'sneak peek' here and a review here, for those that are interested.

The Return of the Shadow - Dragon Rampant Battle Report

Here it is...our latest Dragon Rampant battle report:

This time the boy decided he wanted to be the bad guys. And yep...he wiped the floor with me. Again. Great fun!

Here's a bigger and easier to read version of the battle report on Google Drive and Dropbox.

The figures, a mix of North Star, Red Box and Hasslefree, were all painted for me by the inimitable Matt Slade of Glenbrook Games.

Robert E. Howards Conan Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of Kickstarter by Modiphius

This isn't wargaming related but it might, perhaps, be of interest to some. As a huge fan of the original Conan stories (not to mention the comics and, indeed, even the 1982 film) I've been eagerly awaiting this kickstarter from Modiphius. The artists alone are enough to make me drool.

Coming Soon...

The boy and I had another game of Dragon Rampant this afternoon. Excellent fun. We shall hopefully get the full battle report up some time this week.

SAGA Priests

I've just seen that Gripping Beast will soon be releasing some SAGA Priests...

Pagan Priest
Christian Priest
Islamic Priest
Superb figures...especially the Pagan Priest! Sigh! More minis to add to the already huge 'to-buy' list!

Renedra Tower

Just saw this posted up on Renedra's Facebook page...

It's been a while since we showed anything of the Tower project that we are working on, but in between working on some of our customers upcoming projects for Salute release and beyond we have been steadily progressing this project. The initial release will be the Tower this can be customised to be either fantasy or generic - but our aim is for the Tower section to be utilised with sections of ramparts and crenellations to construct a full castle, this is still a work in progress and to date we have 3 frames to show, these are lower and middle wall sections, upper wall sections and a frame with portcullis, doors and corner pieces. The next frame we are working on is the Tower crenellations with two different sets of gargoyle and wall torches. The last part is a base, this goes inside the top section, and another one on the top that if not glued will be easy to remove allowing figures to be placed inside the top section firing weapons from the windows. What we are planning to do is sell the basic Tower as a boxed set and the other sections will be bagged and can be bought as individual sections as to customers requirements. Prices haven't been finalised yet. Our priority is to get the Tower finished for Salute release from us. We will have a diorama on our trade stand of the front section showing how this can be converted to a castle. We will also have pictures that we have taken on the workbench showing different ways in which the parts can be assembled to customise the build.

Renedra's first lot of Ruins look great and I have their second lot of Ruins primed and ready to paint (I'll get around to it soon, hopefully) so I shall certainly be picking the Castle and Tower bits up when they're released.

Frostgrave Gnolls

Osprey just posted a pic of this on their Facebook page! Out in July!

Temple of Set Indiegogo Campaign from Dark Fable Miniatures now live!

The Temple of Set Indiegogo Campaign from Dark Fable Miniatures is now live here.

Here's some of the blurb:

Welcome to Dark Fable Miniature's Temple of Set Indiegogo Campaign.  We have put together an exciting selection of miniatures from one of the most iconic adventure settings in fantasy fiction and films - the temple of Set, the snake god of chaos, evil and violence!  Within this sinister temple are said to be fabulous treasures such as the Eye of Set, a priceless jewel, guarded by a giant two-headed serpent, the Amphisbaena, which is ever vigilant and always hungry for the flesh of men . . . It is also a place where unspeakable rituals are performed by the prophet of Set in the flickering light of serpentine braziers.  Who knows what nefarious schemes are being plotted by the prophet of this dark god, who has a host of fanatical priests and merciless temple guards to do his bidding.  Only fools or fearless heroes would dare enter such an evil shrine to challenge the power of the prophet and his minions!

The Temple of Set Indiegogo campaign is the latest expansion of Dark Fable's pseudo-historical Egyptian range.  The concept and design of the miniatures are a mix of history, archaeology, fantasy fiction and Hollywood films.  The core group of miniatures consists of 6 sets: 1. Temple guards I, 2. Cultists I, 3. Amphisbaena and the Eye of Set, 4. Fearless Heroes, 5. Cultists II, 6. Temple guards II.  There are also a number of stretch goal rewards and add-ons which if unlocked, will expand the number of selections available.  David Soderquist also sculpted a FREE reward figure of the prophet of Set for returning contributors!  I was fortunate enough to recruit a highly talented band of sculpting desperadoes which you will be familiar with from my previous Indiegogo campaigns.  They include the most excellent David Soderquist, the talented Tim Prow, the amazing Andy Peiper and the brilliant Brother Vinni. These high-quality 28mm miniatures are made from a lead-free pewter alloy and have an incredible amount of detail and personality. Whether you are a collector or gamer you are certain to enjoy these figures!
Here are the 6 basic sets:
Temple Guards I

Cultists I (inlcuding Prophet of Set)

The Amphisbaena and Eye of Set Jewel on Plinth

Fearless Heroes

Cultists II

Temple Guards II
There are also various stretch goal add-ons.
I shall certainly be backing this!
